Robert gave her a call a few hours later after his shift was over. He wanted to confirm that the plan was still in place, and he went over there. Jenna answered the door after a few seconds of him knocking.

“That was fast,” she said.

“I like to be punctual.”

“If you’ve dedicated your life to this, you must have encountered others before me.”

“I did, but nobody wanted to help me. They’re loners by nature, but I can’t give up just because of that.”

Robert relaxed a little. Jenna noticed, and she was grateful for it; maybe she had a chance with him.

“There’s something else that I’ve always wanted to try?”

“What is that?”
